What is Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is a common condition, that we see here in our Aesthetic clinic here in Cornwall, which darkening of the skin occurs due to an increase in melanin production. This darkening occurs when melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) over-produce melanin, forming concentrated deposits of brown pigment in the skin.

Hyperpigmentation may be caused by

* sun damage
* inflammation
* hormonal changes or
* skin injuries (including acne).

Hyperpigmentation can occur anywhere on the body and affect all races.
The products that I am using to treat hyperpigmentation are formulated with pharmaceutical-grade botanical ingredients that work synergistically and safely with skin cells to gradually lighten and even the appearance of pigmentation.

Broad-spectrum UV sun protection is of paramount importance to treat this condition and prevent its reoccurrence.
